What type of paper is used for each product?

Deck of photo playing cards – 12 pt. stock and poly coated
99-piece photo puzzle – 24 pt. stock and poly coated
Photo posters – 12 pt. stock and poly coated

What does 12 pt. and 24 pt. mean?

Pt. Mean point, which is the term used to indicate the thickness of cover papers. You will see cover papers commonly referred to as 8 pt., 10 pt., 12 pt., 14 pt. and 24 pt. Therefore 10 pt is thicker than 8 pt.

12 pt. is a typical weight of a common playing card you would pick up at the store and 24 pt. is two times thicker than the playing card. The poly coated addition adds extra durability and weight to the paper as well.

Why does my product prints look different from what I see on my monitor or home printer?

As files vary from monitors (plasma, HD, CRT) and from desktop printers (HP, Cannon, etc.); we strive to make the digital xerographic prints Cards For a Good Cause produces as true to the uploaded file as possible.

If you have any problems with your products printout please contact a customer service representative.

  • Image and file requirements

What are the image resolution guides for each product?

The bigger the resolution, the better the image looks when printed. If your file exceeds the 4MB upload limit and you have tried to reduce the file size by other methods please contact a customer service representative to work out arrangements for an FTP transfer.

What are the exact sizes for each keepsake?

Deck of photo playing cards – Finished size: 2.125” x 3.125”

    99-piece photo puzzle – Finished size: 11 ½” x 9”

    Photo posters – Finished size: 13” x 19”

My image isn’t cropping correctly on the preview pane. Can I specify how I want the photo to be on the final product?

WIn the comment field indicate your needs and we will do our best to make your product exactly as you intend and how it previews in the ‘YOUR PHOTO’ section of the checkout. As a general rule, if no specific arrangement is made, our printing house will use their best judgment on which portion of your photo is the most important and frame the product accordingly.

Can I use images I found on the internet?

Unless the author of the work has explicitly stated that his work is "public domain" or that the copyright has expired because the work is very old, then you must assume it is not OK to upload images from the internet. Also the resolution of most images pulled straight from the web is too small to make a good print.

Why does my file need to be at least 300DPI?

The bigger the resolution, the better the image looks when printed. If your file exceeds the 4MB upload limit please contact a service representative to work out arrangements for an FTP transfer.

What file formats do you accept for images?

Please remember to save all image files in RGB color mode. We accept PNGs (This PNG format is our recommendation for image uploads for prints.) JPGs, and GIFs.

The following formats generally have long upload times and are not currently supported by Cards4agoodcause.com: PSD, TIFF, BMP, EPS, AI.

    What does Bleed mean?

Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet after trimming. The bleed is the part on the side of your document that gives the printer that small amount of space to move around paper and design inconsistencies.

My file is above the 4MB Max file size. What are my options?

Use an image editing software to decrease your file size or double check the export settings from your image viewing application to optimize your image to the printing specifications. If your file still exceeds the 4MB upload limit please contact a customer service representative to work out arrangements for an FTP transfer.
